My authorial illustration practice predominantly focuses on three key concepts; gender stereotyping and its effects on mental health, connecting through lived experiences, and positive mental health and wellbeing. I draw images and I also work in clay. Alongside creating political editorial pieces and exhibiting my clay work, I work with communities through workshops promoting inclusion, equality, and mental health and wellbeing.
My PhD research questions how clay can improve women’s body image and wellbeing, leading to developing an adaptable approach for others to adopt for early intervention. Through intergenerational clay workshops, we will create collaborative artwork giving an insight to body image issues from the perspective of mothers and daughters.
