Phd Researcher Profile

Kelsey Campolong is a PhD Researcher currently studying the discursive construction of 'truth' in Trumpian discourse. Her thesis aims to provide an outline of the discursive strategies involved in negotiations of discourse-dependent truth and lies from Trump's campaign rally speeches by means of a linguistically-based critical discourse analysis. 

Key research fields: critical discourse analysis (CDA), political discourse analysis, sociolinguistics, pragmatics, political communication

Teaching interests include semiotics, (socio)linguistics, communication, and academic writing. Kelsey is currently involved in the following modules:
