A marine ecologist by background, currently working in supporting scientific efforts to standardize & enhance remote sensing methods for the acquisition, processing and validation of Multibeam Echosounder backscatter data for monitoring benthic habitats (e.g biogenic cold watre reefs) over a range of spatial scales. These tools provide valuable and reliable scientific information to support evidence-based management of marine protected areas and their associated biodiversity values. I also have worked previously in promoting participatory approaches, tools and creation of strategic partnerships in support of sustainable natural resources management, environmental policy and marine conservation.
In 2015, UN member states agreed to 17 global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to end poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. This person’s work contributes towards the following SDG(s):
