N2 - This paper summarises the early insights of the Audience Council Northern Ireland for the Trust’s review of network speech radio services. It particularly aims to capture the questions and themes for audiences which might be helpful for the BBC Trust to explore in the ongoing review of Network Speech radio. The Council’s insights are summarised in two sections – for Radio 4 and 4 Extra, and then Radio 5 live and 5 Live Sports Extra, recognising the distinctive offers and audiences for these stations. However, there are some common themes, such as how changes in technology and consumption patterns impact on audiences of the future. A third section describes the evidence base that the Audience Council has drawn on.
