This poem is part of a permanent on site installation commissioned by the Institute for Conflict Resolution (Belfast) as part of their Art at the Heart of the Ards Penninsula Peace IV Programme. It is located on the grounds of Greyabbey and responds to the foundation of the abbey by Affreca de Courcy in the twelfth century. The poem is cast on a bronze plaque fashioned by Alan Cargo and positioned on site beside a ceramic bench sculpture by Eleanor Wheeler. The bench features images from the poem. An audio recording of Kathleen McCracken reading the poem against a commissioned soundscape of waves, wind and rooks can be downloaded on site.
