Personality Disorders and Substance Misuse

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapterpeer-review

Abstract

Mainstream mental health services have developed expertise in supporting people with personality disorders and/or substance misuse difficulties over many years. These are relatively new concepts in services for people with intellectual disabilities and this is reflected in the lack of research and practice guidance. However, this chapter attempts to draw on the available evidence and offer some guidance into these complex and challenging areas.
