Chatbots have become a popular choice for organisations in delivering services and e-commerce to users through using natural language processing (NLP). The popularity of chatbots in mental health is increasing and is seen as an accessible approach to receiving mental health support along with clinical/therapy treatment. The aim of this paper is to investigate a digital solution to the Reading Rooms affective bibliotherapy model, using state-of-the-art chatbot technology. This paper discusses the motivation for this work, and how state of-the-art technologies could benefit how Reading Rooms is currently delivered. Paper also discusses current state of the art chatbot applications that are used to support mental health as well as applications that use bibliotherapy
