The definition of peace as non-violence and the aim of coexistence are critical concepts in the literature of peace-building. In Northern Ireland the transformation of an antagonistic paradigm into reconciliation has been both centrally present and elusive. The reasons behid this and the opportunities for change both need to be explored and challenged.
