Abstract

Shown as part of a collective exhibition from the work of the University of Ulster’s drawing group. Drawing a Line - Visual Thinking as Drawing19th September until 15th October 2011Mark Ainsworth - Majella Clancy - Paul Clarke – Colin Darke - Lydia Holmes - Adriana Ionascu - Fiona Larkin - Sinead McKeever - Helen O’Hare - Joanne Proctor - Doris Rohr - Louise WallaceThe group brings together artists, designers and architects whose work is concerned with drawing as a conceptual tool. The work shown forms a triptych around the theme of the architect's approach to drawing: Marks on a wall; a numerical quote turned into a drawing related to 'The Modular' by Le Corbusier and then the open pages of a notebook kept while visiting China. A series of inter related works that explore different perceptions and themes on the notion of drawing in architecture- Notebooks, paint and walls.
